Our volunteer Joe Lockey ran his first Half Marathon to help raise money for Project Gambia. Having never run (or participated in any sports!) this was no easy mission, but after 6 months of hard training he managed to run the St Albans Half Marathon in an incredible 1 hour and 47 minutes! Through the support of his friends, colleagues and family he managed to raise an astonishing £777 pounds for our charity which helped build a kitchen at one of our schools, provide plates, cups and cutlery for the children to use, help repair a water tower and much more!
