Getting the schools ready again after lockdown

The Gambia, much like most of the world, was put into a strict lockdown this year to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. Whilst the schools were left closed to both students and teachers, nature found a way to thrive! After a few months of no gardening or maintenance and coupled with the vast amount of rains from the monsoon season, weeds and plants had completely covered all of the schools grounds. Together with some local villagers who kindly offered to help, our wonderful teachers rolled up their sleeves and spent a week claiming back the playgrounds, in preparation for the long awaited re-opening of the pre-schools!
